Arleen
has documented over 130 varieties of wildflowers at Once Upon A Time and
there are still more to identify! April and early May are prime
wildflower season in the mountains. Bring your field books and lenses.
The Great Smoky Mountains are a designated biosphere
with incredible diversity of plant and animal life. On our daily adventures you might see deer, coyote, fox, wild boar, black bear, turkey,
raccoons, eagle, osprey, and birds too numerous to mention. Ed and I have seen mountain lion tracks in some of the more remote areas.
